Attendees can listen to Paul as he presents “In-Line Punching Technology” on April 18, 2023 at 9:50 AM- 10:35 AM. In this session, attendees will review and learn common in-line punching operations including stationary flying pre-notch dies, rotary punching machines, and flying post-punching dies. Attendees will also learn how to answer varying questions about line upgrades and existing line punching problems.

Paul will also present “Cutoff Technology” on April 19, 2023 at 1:00 PM – 1:45 PM in the Gospel Room. This presentation will explain how sheet metal can be cut at specific points on a roll forming line. Attendees will learn there are different ways to make the cut depending on the location and application being used. In this session, attendees will also learn the different cutoff methods and determine the best application for the cross-section. Paul will also cover slug-type cutoff dies, slugless crop cutoff dies and combination cutoff off dies, and when to use them. Finally, Paul will review the different types of presses including air, mechanical, and hydraulic presses.

On Tuesday, a networking reception will feature the ever-popular Roll Forming Jeopardy game hosted and developed by Paul for attendees to test their knowledge about all things roll forming. During the reception, attendees will play a full round of Jeopardy with workshop speakers acting as judges to validate answers. The crowd gets in on the fun by throwing hints to players that need them. This is where bragging rights are won! The game has grown in popularity over the years and is always fun. Catch the reception and the game on April 18, 2023, at the TRUMPF Smart Factory from 4:45 PM – 6:45 PM.
