Session 1: In-Line Punching Technology
April 29, 2025 | 11:35 AM – 12:35 PM
In his first session, Paul will take a deep dive into in-line punching technology, covering common punching operations such as stationary flying pre-notch dies, rotary punching machines, and flying post-punching dies. Attendees will gain a better understanding of how these systems operate and how to troubleshoot and optimize them. Paul will also discuss how to address challenges related to line upgrades and existing in-line punching issues, offering valuable strategies to enhance production efficiency.
Session 2: Cutoff Technology
April 30, 2025 | 3:05 PM – 4:05 PM
Paul’s second presentation will focus on cutoff technology — a critical component in roll forming operations. This session will explore various methods of cutting sheet metal at specific points along a roll forming line, emphasizing how the choice of method depends on the application and line location. Attendees will learn about different cutoff techniques, including slug-type dies, slugless crop dies, and combination cutoff dies, and selecting the most suitable option based on the cross-section. Paul will also review press types — including air, mechanical, and hydraulic presses — and their best-use scenarios.
